A panoramic landscape guided by the Scripture
On the western side of Jezreel Valley, peer out over Megiddo (1 Kings 4.28, 9,15, 2 Kings 23,29 and Revel 16.16), identified as the site of Armageddon.
Mt. Gilboa, which hugs the region on the southeastern side, is the site of King Saul’s downfall (1 Samuel 28:4) and David’s subsequent curse of the mountain range (2 Samuel 1:21). At the foot of the mountain, catch a glimpse of Ein Harod, Gideon’s Spring, described in Judges 7.
Overlook Mt. Tabor in the east, the site of Jesus’ transfiguration (Matthew 17:1–9, Mark 9:2–8, Luke 9:28–36), where there currently stands an orthodox Franciscan monastery.
Of course, once you have taken in the breathtaking vistas, with your feet firmly planted on the ground, visit the sites close up on your guided Kenes tour.
