Jesus visited the Temple in Jerusalem many times during that final week of the Passover feast. Most often, he would have ascended the Temple courtyard from the southern steps through the Huldah Gate.
“Then Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who were selling and buying in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.”
Matthew 21:12
Excavations below the southern wall of the Temple Mount were carried on from 1968 to the year 2000. You can now walk on the same steps Jesus did on his way to preach in Solomon’s Porticoes or to protest the practices of the money changers.
